Kamloops, BC & Home

Kamloops Tournament Capital of Canada

We drive a long day after leaving Tonopah, NV. That night(Saturday) we were looking for either a RV park or wide spot in the road to park. It is getting late & dark and some of the RV parks that are advertised along side the highway, do not have very easy access in the dark. Or they appear closed. We drive until we get to Long Creek, OR -- which was about 585 miles from Tonopah. We stop and park at the side of the road in the lot of a General Store/Grocery Store in Long Creek. We have a good sleep and we are on the road just after 6 am Sunday morning. We get to the Osoyoos, BC/Oroville, WA border crossing right around 6 pm that evening. We saw some beautiful country along the senic 395 Hwy. We also traveled some small highways that seemed to travel through a farmers field. All paved of course and good roads. Saw very little traffic as these roads were not heavily traveled. I am sure people that passed us in there vehicles wondered if we were lost. I had set the GPS to take us from Long Creek to the Canada/US border. This was the route it chose and as I say, the roads were good, and very little traffic. We crossed the border very quickly and had very few questions to answer. We stopped in Osoyoos to visit friends for an hour, Steve & Kathy. We leave their place and as it is still fairly early, we decide to drive to Kamloops. We drive up Hwy 97 until we get to the other side of Peachland and cut across on 5C to Merritt then on to Kamloops. We arrive home just around midnight. We park, and head into home & bed. Tomorrow is a new day and we will start the unpacking & cleaning of the motorhome. Total mileage for the trip from the time we left September 4th till now is 14,700km or 9120 miles, on the motorhome. On the car we put another 16000 km. Some trip!!!!
