Yuma Aeromodelers Radio Controlled Airshow -- Feb. 25, 2012

The day was beautiful. Clear blue sky, temperature very warm. A friend(Dave) and I went out to the airshow, leaving his place around 9:30am. We arrived at the park where the show was to take place around 15 minutes later. We found a parking spot near the entrance and unloaded our chairs from the vehicle and proceeded to the main seating area. The park was already packed with people and participants. We found a spot to park our chairs in the rear of the seating area. Soon a spot came open near the center and we moved. About 30 minutes later, another spot came open at the front, right next to the perimeter fence, so we moved there. This was a perfect spot for viewing and to take pictures from. Here is a few photos and a short home made movie.

The parade started shortly after 10 am and was continuous for about an hour. Both sides of the main road in Wellton were lined up with locals, and people from the surrounding area. Plus lots of snowbirds, we being some of them. The parade is well organized and the town puts on quite a splash to celebrate. It's been a long time Update to Feb 2011

It has been a long time!! The last time we made a post here was March of 2011 and since then we have been extremely busy. When we got home from our annual trip south we proceeded to redo our home. From putting in new windows all the way around and new exterior doors, to basically tearing the inside apart & then put it back together.

House with new Front Door and New Windows. Marge & I did better than 95% of the work ourselves!

Looking into the dining room. We put in 2 windows that are in the room & took out a glass sliding door and installed a new exterior door.

Two windows we installed beside the buffet & hutch

We installed new flooring throughout the living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway and one bedroom. The fireplace painted, new hearth and mantel.

New kitchen

We were pretty well done with the renovations, with a few minor things left to do. Shortly after moving our belongings upstairs, I went to the hospital to have my left hip redone. While I am in the recovery mode, Marge finished moving us upstairs and cleaned the unit so it could be rented.
