Easter Dinner - April 12th

Table I sat at

MaryAnn - cook(doesn't like picture taken)

Gates & Donna - Cooks
Easter dinner was prepared for those that were still in the park & hadn't left for home or other locations. MaryAnn & Norm activities directors along with Gates and Donna were the main cooks. Norm is camera shy! The park provided the ham & au gratin potatoes, and all the other fabulous food was provided by each person(s) that came. There were many hot side dishes along with many varieties of salads. After all you could eat of the main course there was a table full of desserts. What a feast.
Besides cooking and arranging for the evening meal these same people had made breakfast for all that came. Cost for breakfast was $4.00 each but we all got our values worth and more.

Karaoke

The men sitting off deck

The park is pretty well closed and all functions that normally take place in the clubhouse have been shut down. So Dee & Al ask the park managers if they could have karaoke at there place. The answer was in the affirmative so early on Saturday afternoon of the 11th of April we gathered at their place as they have a karaoke machine. There were approximately 40 people attend. Some singers, some listeners! Just like the school dances, girls on the porch, boys off the porch!! We had a wonderful afternoon with many singers. Around 6pm, there was a break in singing as we had pizza. Each person contributed monies to purchase pizza and margaritas. Dee run the karaoke & Al her husband made the drinks. At 10 pm that evening the singing stopped as this is a seniors park ya know. Someone was at the managers place at 10:01 to complain about the noise.... go figure!!! The margaritas were pretty well gone but there was leftover pizza. Nobody went hungry as there was many pizza's for the group...all good.

Apr 6th with Dennis & Rita

Dennis & Rita were on a whirlwind driving vacation. They had a two week window in which to accomplish there goal. They were from Iowa about 28 miles west of Des Moines. Dennis had never driven long distances, preferring to fly. But this vacation was going to be different. So they packed up the Miata and headed south. We met them when we were on our first cruise in 2008. We had been all seated at the same dinner table onboard the Carnival "Spirit". All of us were Bob & Cathy, Dennis & Rita, and ourselves Burt & Marge. We shared many laughs and have been in contact since this time. They had let us know that they were going to be coming this way and would be here April 6th. We made plans to meet as we were in Wellton, AZ (Bob, Cathy & Us) in our motorhomes. They stayed at the hotel across the road for a couple of nights. They arrived midday so we didn't do a lot other than sit around and catch up on the news. That evening we went into Yuma and had supper at Applebee's. The next morning we went to Algodones, MX to show them the border town and all the shopping one can do there. There were 8 of us, ourselves & Ross & Sheran, friends from home, using our car and Bob, Cathy, Dennis & Rita in Bob/Cathy's vehicle. We had a good day shopping along with much laughter. Dennis & Rita made mention that about all the extra's they could pack would be their passports as every available crook & cranny was occupied. We had lunch at the restaurant there. After getting back from Algodones and still being rather early in the day they left as they wanted to head to Phoenix/Mesa. We said our goodbyes and promised to keep in touch. Also there was again mention of another cruise where we would all meet again!!
