In April of 2006, I had the pleasure of riding in an ultralite. This was my first ride via this type of craft and I was certainly looking forward to it. On the appointed day I met the pilot & his craft down on the beach. He run thru the crafts abilities and where all the parachutes were located in case of a mishap. After strapping me into the rear seat he got in the front seat. He run thru his check list, started the motor, checked the airelons, and off we went. In a run of less than 70 feet we were airborn. Excillarating I says to myself. We went up and down the coast line, me snapping photos as we went. We flew over the townsite and snapped more photos. A chance of a lifetime for me & I certainly enjoyed it. All too soon the ride came to end and we glided back to earth, taking less time to stop than at take off. We shook hands, and on I went my merry way, happy and content. Pics can be seen at
