Yuma, AZ

Entrance to resort

Our rig parked in resort

We arrived at Suni-Sands RV Resort on Sunday the 16th of Nov. We will be here a week then return to the CRA resort in Earp, CA. We are in the overflow parking area in the park and this is fine with us as we are here mainly to go to Algodones, MX to see the dentist, get some new glasses, and visit the pharmacy. We know that we can do all these things at home and are covered by our medical, BUT, it is still cheaper in Mexico. Also with the proper receipt we are reimbursed by the extended coverage we have on our medical. Plus we get to go to the fish and shrimp taco cafe for lunch, which is always a highlight.
We are across the road from the Yuma International Airport which is also home to the NAVY aircraft. they start about 8 am in the morning on training missions and are going till about 10 pm at night. They are intermittent during the day. Noisy at times. I will try and get a photo of one of the jets as they roar overhead. Unfortunately wasn't able to get photo....maybe next time!
It has been a busy week shopping and visiting friends. We were out for supper every night this past week. Two days we spent time in Algodones. Wednesday evening spent with Damon and his wife Fran. He has a vast knowledge in computers and in karaoke, thus he is a great resource one must take advantage of. Thursday and Friday evenings we were at the Pioneer RV Resort in Wellton, which is about 30 miles east of Yuma. Thursday was a get together at Larry and Jeannette's place with Chris & Loretta, Bob & Cathy, Al & Dee, & ourselves. Great evening. Friday night was karaoke at the rec hall.
The temperature here has been in the mid 80's with temp also reaching the low 90's during the day. Gorgeous, we say and love it.
